Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Duple application and services ("Services") operated by Duple ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Duple, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Duple.
Notice regarding Apple: These Terms constitute an End User License Agreement (EULA) between you and Duple only — not with Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to this EULA and is not responsible for the Duple app or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services for Duple.
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

Eligibility & Age
Duple is an adult AI companion platform rated 17+ on the Apple App Store and is intended only for users aged 18 years or older. By using Duple, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use Duple. We may suspend or terminate accounts where we have reason to believe the user is under 18.
You also represent that you are not a citizen or resident of a country subject to comprehensive sanctions where providing our Services would be prohibited under applicable law.
License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Duple grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the Duple application on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules set forth in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
You may not sublicense, resell, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the application. You may not use Duple for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
Account Registration
To use Duple, you must create an account using Sign in with Apple or another supported authentication method. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at keith@duple.chat.
You may only hold one active account. Duplicate accounts may be merged or terminated.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account within the app, or by contacting us at keith@duple.chat. Account deletion is irreversible and begins immediately. Your Duple account, messages, companion memories, generated media records, uploaded images, and account-linked app data are deleted subject to narrow legal retention obligations. Deleting your Duple account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription; manage subscriptions through your Apple Account settings.
Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
You agree to use Duple only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. The following are expressly prohibited:
- Attempting to use the Service as or for a real person who has not consented, or to generate content that depicts real, identifiable individuals without their explicit consent.
- Requesting, producing, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualises minors. Any such violation will be reported to appropriate authorities immediately.
- Using Duple to harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person.
- Attempting to circumvent content moderation, safety systems, or usage limits.
- Using automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Services.
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
- Uploading, generating, or distributing malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Duple application.
- Reselling, sublicensing, or commercially exploiting any aspect of the Service without our consent.
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations, including export control, anti-money laundering, and privacy laws.
- Sharing, republishing, or distributing AI-generated images from Duple on third-party platforms in a manner that implies they are photographs of real people.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately for any violation of this section, without notice or refund.
AI-Generated Content
Duple uses artificial intelligence — including large language models, image generation models, and provider routing through OpenAI, fal.ai, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, and Google Gemini where configured — to generate chat responses, images, and related app features.
Nature of AI Content
All companions in Duple are entirely fictional AI constructs. They are not real people. Any resemblance to real persons is coincidental. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unexpected. We do not represent or warrant the accuracy or reliability of any AI-generated content.
Important: Duple is an entertainment product. Your AI companion is not a substitute for professional psychological, therapeutic, medical, legal, or financial advice. Do not rely on Duple for emergency assistance. If you are in crisis, please contact appropriate emergency services or a qualified professional.
Content Standards
AI-generated content is subject to automated moderation. Content is generated in accordance with our internal safety guidelines and the content policies of our AI providers. We reserve the right to restrict or refuse generation of any content at our sole discretion.
AI Web Search
Your companion may use real-time web search to bring up current topics in conversation. Search queries may be processed by OpenAI, OpenRouter, or other configured AI search or model providers. Web search results are provided for conversational purposes only and should not be relied upon as factual research.
Image Generation
AI-generated images are created on demand using OpenAI image models and related image infrastructure such as fal.ai where configured. Generated images are stored on our CDN under account or avatar-scoped paths and linked to your account so they can appear in chat, media views, profile pictures, outfit drafts, or other app surfaces. You are responsible for how you use, share, or store these images.
User Image Attachments
If you choose to send an image in chat, take a photo with the camera, pick an image from your photo library, or set a profile picture, you are responsible for having the rights and consent needed to submit that image. We may store image URLs, thumbnails, file metadata, compact chat context, structured vision output, and moderation metadata, and may process submitted images with vision and moderation systems so your companion can respond appropriately and so we can enforce these Terms.
Subscriptions, Dokens & Billing
Free Tier (Lite)
Duple is available on a free "Lite" tier. Lite users receive a one-time welcome bonus of 2,500 Dokens on account creation. Free-tier users are subject to a daily chat reply limit of 150 replies per day. Lite currently supports up to 2 Duples on one account. Upgrading to a paid plan removes the daily chat limit, provides a recurring Doken allowance, and increases your Duple slot limit.
Subscription Plans
Paid subscription plans unlock Doken allowances, unlimited chat replies, higher Duple slot limits, and additional features. Current plans include:

Exact pricing is displayed in the App Store in your local currency and may vary by region. Any free trials, introductory offers, or promotional pricing shown in the app are controlled by StoreKit and the App Store for your Apple Account and region. All subscription pricing is subject to change with reasonable notice.
Dokens (Virtual Currency)
Dokens are the virtual in-app currency used within Duple to unlock AI-generated images, image edits, random outfits, voice call minutes, additional Duple creation, and other premium features. Paid subscribers receive a recurring Doken allowance (weekly for Plus Weekly; monthly for Plus Monthly and Plus Annual). Plus Annual subscribers also receive a one-time 15,000 Doken bonus upon first activation.
Dokens have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or refunded except as required by applicable law. Allowance Dokens reset each billing period and do not carry over. Bonus or other non-allowance Dokens persist until used or until your account is terminated.
Your first Duple is included. Additional Duple creation may cost Dokens and remains subject to your plan's slot limit. As of the effective date of these Terms, AI-generated images, custom image edits, and random outfit generation generally cost 100 Dokens each, voice call usage generally costs 5 Dokens per minute, and creating an additional Duple costs 2,500 Dokens. Current costs are shown in the app and may change with reasonable notice. If a charge fails or a generation fails before delivery, we may reverse or refund the related Doken charge in our systems.
Billing & Renewal
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal charges occur within 24 hours of the end of the current period. You can restore eligible purchases in the app where available, and you can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
EU / EEA Users: Under EU consumer protection law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases unless you have explicitly consented to immediate access and acknowledged the loss of your withdrawal right. By purchasing a subscription or other paid digital entitlement offered in the app that provides immediate access to digital content, you consent to the immediate provision of the digital content and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal. This does not affect your right to cancel future subscription renewals.
Refunds
All purchases are subject to Apple's refund policies. We do not provide refunds for partially used billing periods, used digital content, or unused Dokens included with a subscription or bonus, except where required by applicable consumer protection law. To request a refund, use Apple's standard refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Maintenance Claims
As between Apple and Duple, Duple is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for the Duple application. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support with respect to Duple.
Intellectual Property
The Duple application, including its design, code, text, graphics, user interface, branding, and all other content (excluding user-provided content), is owned by or licensed to Duple and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The name "Duple", the Duple logo, "Pingping", and associated marks are trademarks of Duple. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
Your licence to use the application does not grant you any ownership rights in the application or its content. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
AI-Generated Images
AI-generated images produced by Duple on your behalf are provided to you for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not use AI-generated images from Duple to misrepresent AI content as photographic content, to defame or impersonate real persons, or for any unlawful purpose.
User Content
"User Content" means any messages, images, audio, profile photos, image attachments, reference photos, or other content you submit through the Services, including messages you send in chat and photos you choose to upload from your device.
Your Licence to Us
By submitting User Content, you grant Duple a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, process, transmit, and store your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Services. We do not use your conversation content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party, and is not illegal or in violation of these Terms.

Privacy
Your use of Duple is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Before creating an account, you must affirmatively agree to the Terms, Privacy Policy, and the processing of your messages, images, and voice by Duple's AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
You acknowledge and consent to the fact that your chat messages, companion context, prompts, image attachments, and related media metadata are sent to third-party AI services (including OpenAI, fal.ai, OpenRouter, DeepSeek through OpenRouter where configured, and Google Gemini through OpenRouter where configured) as necessary to provide the Services. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is processed.
Safety & Moderation
Duple employs automated content moderation systems that screen both user inputs and AI outputs for policy violations. Violations may result in temporary account blocks, strikes, or permanent account termination.
We maintain a safety strike system. Repeated violations escalate account restrictions. We may terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms or our community standards.
Any content or conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful, abusive, illegal, or in violation of these Terms may result in immediate removal of content and termination of your account, without notice or refund.
Zero tolerance: Any attempt to generate, solicit, or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content sexualising minors will result in immediate account termination and reporting to the appropriate law enforcement authorities and NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) or equivalent bodies.
Support & Maintenance
Duple is responsible for providing all support and maintenance services for the Duple application. Apple is not responsible for any maintenance or support obligations with respect to Duple.

We may update, modify, or discontinue the Services (or any features thereof) at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes.
Disclaimers & Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DUPLE AND ITS SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content, including chat responses, images, or web search results. AI systems can make errors and generate unexpected content.
We do not warrant that Duple will meet your specific requirements or expectations, or that any defects will be corrected.
If any applicable warranty cannot be disclaimed and Duple fails to conform to that warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app, if any, in accordance with Apple's policies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to Duple.
Product Claims: Duple (not Apple) is solely responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to Duple or your possession and/or use of Duple, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that Duple fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL DUPLE, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO DUPLE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Note for EU/EEA users: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Duple and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
Third-Party Terms & Services
Duple integrates third-party services including OpenAI, fal.ai, OpenRouter, DeepSeek where configured through OpenRouter, Google Gemini through OpenRouter where configured, Supabase, Bunny CDN, ImgBB for legacy or temporary reference-photo hosting where used, and Apple. Your use of these services through Duple is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. You agree to comply with all applicable third-party terms when using the Services, including your mobile device operator's terms.
We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of third-party services. Links to third-party services do not constitute an endorsement by Duple.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it in the app or contacting us. Upon termination, your licence to use the app ceases immediately. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability.
If your account is terminated for violation of these Terms, any active subscription will also be terminated. Refunds will not be provided for violations of these Terms.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the applicable rules of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA), or, if you prefer, resolved in the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
EU / EEA & UK Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer located in the EU, EEA, or UK, the following provisions apply and take precedence over any conflicting provisions in these Terms:
- Mandatory Consumer Laws: Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
- Governing Law: EU/EEA/UK consumers may also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where they reside.
- Online Dispute Resolution: EU consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our contact email for ODR purposes is keith@duple.chat.
- Digital Services Act (DSA): Duple complies with applicable obligations under the EU Digital Services Act. If you believe content on Duple is illegal, you may report it to us at keith@duple.chat.
Export Compliance
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, or that has been designated by the US Government as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You agree to comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws and regulations, including those of Australia, the United States, and the EU.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, notify you via in-app notification or email prior to the changes taking effect.
Your continued use of Duple after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Duple and delete your account.
