Current US examples
These are examples from providers’ public pages, not a claim about every AI companion app. Prices and plans can change and can differ by country, platform, promotion, and account eligibility.

Does “free” mean 100% free?
Not always. “Free” can mean the download costs nothing, a limited free tier exists, or a trial temporarily unlocks paid features. A trial that requires payment details and renews automatically is not the same as permanent free access.
Duple is free to download, but it is not a 100%-free app: the US listing shows in-app purchases, and says some features need Dokens or Duple Plus. Duple’s free Lite plan has a two-companion slot limit in the iOS app configuration. Paid Plus plans increase that limit and include additional perks.
Kindroid says its three-day trial needs a payment method and automatically converts unless cancelled. Replika describes Free Use as limited and offers paid subscription tiers. Always inspect the renewal details shown before confirming.
Compare total cost, not the headline plan
- Write down recurring price and billing interval.
- Check whether credits, images, calls, or extra characters cost more.
- Note whether trial access converts automatically, and when.
- Compare the exact feature you want, not the plan name alone.
- Use the amount shown in your local App Store; regional prices can differ.

Quick answers
Is there a 100% free AI girlfriend app?
Some apps offer limited free access, but “free” plans often restrict features or message volume. Check whether images, memory, or longer conversations require a subscription or credits.
How much does an AI girlfriend app cost?
It varies by app and plan. The two current US iOS examples above range from $6.99 per week to $19.99 per month for Duple Plus, and $15.99 per month for Kindroid standard premium. Storefront prices can change.
Is Duple completely free?
No. Duple is free to download and has a Lite tier, but the App Store lists optional Duple Plus subscriptions and Doken purchases, and some features require them.
